basic bodice pattern

Built-in corset pattern

In the first part of the lesson, we are drafting our basic bodice pattern and converting it into a corset pattern.

The most important part is increasing the top length to 21 inches instead of 17 inches.

We are only adding a quarter of an inch for seam allowance.

When ruling your channels for boning, the standard distance is 2.5 inches. (The larger your measurements, the more boning you will need)

For the back pattern, after dividing your bust and waist measurements by 4, subtract 2.2 to 3 inches from it. For example, if the bust is 37 inches (37/4= 9.25), then (9.25-3=6.25), 6.25 is now your bust measurement. Repeat the same thing for the waist.
